Install Python 3.10+ and pipx

NAVIG requires Python 3.10 or newer. pipx manages the global CLI install in an isolated environment. Windows users can skip this — the PowerShell installer is self-contained.

# Check your Python version first
python3 --version   # needs 3.10+

# Ubuntu / Debian
sudo apt update && sudo apt install python3.10 pipx

# macOS (Homebrew)
brew install python@3.10 pipx

# Any platform (after Python is installed)
pip install --user pipx
pipx ensurepath   # adds ~/.local/bin to PATH

# Verify
python3 --version
pipx --version
