How can we help?

NAVIG is open source and local-first. Most answers are in the docs; for anything else, open a GitHub issue.

NAVIG Anchor — common questions

The palette hotkey does nothing.

Anchor needs the NAVIG engine running for AI actions. Open the tray menu → check the engine is installed and started. Another app may also be holding the same global shortcut — rebind it in Anchor’s Shortcuts window.

Actions return an error instead of a result.

AI actions run through your local NAVIG engine and the provider you configured. Make sure a provider connection with a valid key is set up in NAVIG. Anchor never sends your text to NAVIG’s servers.

Nothing gets pasted back / the wrong app is targeted.

Anchor pastes into the last focused app. If you summoned the palette from the tray, click back into your target app first, then use the hotkey so the selection is captured from the right window.

Is my text private?

Yes — your selected text goes only to your local engine on 127.0.0.1 and then to your own AI provider. See the privacy policy.
